Dr. Nowsheen Purabi has 20 years of experience as a medical practitioner and teacher. She has completed her MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College, and MCPS from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Then she worked at Z. H. Sikder Women’s Medical College and Anwer Khan Modern Medical College. She is dedicated to empowering women through comprehensive health education and support. After completing her US Department of State-sponsored fellowship on Human Rights in Child Birth, she is now the leading practitioner who is working to establish respectful maternity care and stop unnecessary C-sections in Bangladesh. She is working with UNFPA, WHO, and DGNM to train the health workforce on maternal health care. She is working with DGFP as a master trainer on adolescent-friendly health services (menstrual hygiene management), MR, MRM, post-abortion care, and long-acting reversible contraceptive. She is also working with BTEB and NSDA, Prime Minister’s Office to enhance the skills of health workers, and caregivers.
